North Dakota's Prairie Pothole Country provides an excellent habitat for deer which accounts for the state's large white-tail population. You will hunt in areas with heavy concentrations of deer. Whistling Wings owner and outfitter, Clint Campbell, has maintained a 100% success rate on white-tail bucks over a 40+ year period. His fully guided buck hunts have also enabled his clients to enjoy the same success ratio.
Whistling Wings employs a variety of hunting techniques, ranging from small drives, still-hunting the edges of feeding and bedding areas, to early morning drives adjacent to known deer crossing points and escape routes. Most hunting is on privately-owned farm land, dotted with sloughs, creeks, and wooded lots.
Large tracts of sunflowers and other small grains provide excellent forage and shelter for deer, and mature bucks often field dress between 180 and 200 pounds.
Deer Gun
North Dakota's rifle season lasts 16 and 1/2 days, normally opening on the second Friday in November. Non-resident deer (rifle) licenses are issued through a lottery system by the North Dakota Game & Fish Department; licensed outfitters may be able to acquire a limited number of license early at a slightly higher fee.
The deadline for submitting regular lottery applications is early June, so it helps to plan hunts well in advance.
Deer Bow
Season dates may vary, but North Dakota's bow season usually opens late August or early September and extends into early January.
You will have the opportunity to hunt on thousands of leased acres of prime white-tail habitat, void of other hunters, while you match your wit and skill against one of North America's fines big game animals.
